Acquiring new patients in today’s oversaturated dental practice market is one of the biggest challenges facing any dental practice wanting to grow. It has been a long time since we have seen a GTA practice that was not actively seeking new patients. So, when a large patient base becomes available for purchase, there are usually a lot of people interested.
This well-established practice has been in its current store front location on a major thoroughfare in Brampton for over 30 years. The practice has been well maintained and includes 4 operatories, a sterilization/lab area, private office, staff room, and an area set up for a pan, all in ~1,284 square feet.
The practice has 1,500 patients, with an 89% hygiene compliance rate. The practice has a conservative, preventive oriented philosophy, with plenty of upside revenue potential (the practice has an estimated 20 monthly referrals out of the practice, and billings per patient per year are about 40% below average). There is below average revenue risk as well as the opportunity to significantly enhance revenues in the future. While they do accept assignment, their AR is incredibly low.
While the current lease has 2.5 years left remaining on the current term, there is an upcoming demolition that could take place anytime after 2026, so the practice will need to be relocated in that time. The good news is, this gives you a good amount of time to get to know patients in the current location before transitioning them over to your existing practice (or it gives you 2.5 years to build out a new space in the area to your liking to move the patients and equipment).
While the vendor is looking to slow down and retire, they are happy to stay on for a transition period, working on a reduced schedule for 6 months possibly more. So, if you have been looking to increase the size of your patient base and have the capacity to merge in an additional 1,500 patients over the next few years, this is not an opportunity to miss!
